Day trips from our Bed and Breakfast in Malaga, Spain.

Day trips from our Bed and Breakfast in Malaga, Spain.

There's plenty to do. Our B&B is centrally located in Andalusia, making it easy to explore various destinations.
Get in the mood and watch the video . We've created a beautiful photo book showcasing all the excursions you can take from our B&B. We're happy to advise you!

Malaga 30 min
Most guests fly into Málaga Airport and head to our destination in a rental car to explore Andalusia. Don't forget to visit the city of Málaga. Just 30 minutes from our B&B, you'll find the historic center of the capital of the province of the same name.

There is something for everyone to do: shopping in the Calle Marqués de Larios, visiting historical monuments such as the Cathedral from 1700 or the Castillo Gilbralfaro and nearby the Alcazaba fortress.

For those who love gardens, Jardin de la Concepción is a must, just on the outskirts of Málaga on the route to our B&B in Riogordo.
Prefer to stroll along the harbor promenade? That's possible too. Marvel at the enormous cruise ships that dock there, giving their passengers the opportunity to explore Málaga.
If it does happen to rain or be too hot, consider visiting one of the museums: Museo Carmen Thyssen , Centre Pompidou (a branch of the Paris museum), or the Picasso Museum . Pablo Picasso was also born in Malagueño: a visit to his birthplace is highly recommended. For more tips, please feel free to contact us.
We like the city so much that we have had an apartment for rent there since April 2023, Loft2Stay

Granada 65 minutes
An hour's drive from our B&B lies the historic city of Granada, home to the world-famous Alhambra (click here to book tickets). This enormous, historic Moorish palace is well worth a visit. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and for good reason. The Albaucín district at the foot of the Alhambra, with its charming restaurants and narrow alleyways, is also well worth a visit. Another unique feature of Granada is that you almost always see snow on the peaks of the Sierra Nevada.

Antequera 40 minutes
A unique city, but less well-known in our province of Málaga. 30,000 inhabitants, a charming city center, and a beautiful bullring. Well worth a visit and a lovely stroll through the city center. It combines well with a hike up El Torcal, an impressive mountain range, and the Fuente de Piedra saltwater lagoon . A salt lake where flamingos breed.

A lovely morning walk in the nature park, followed by lunch in town around 2 p.m., and then back to our finca for a refreshing dip in the pool. Of course, you can also enjoy a sunset, which we certainly never tire of.
Please note: shops in Antequera are closed from 2pm to 5pm.

Ronda 55 minutes
After a delicious breakfast at our B&B and a scenic drive of about an hour and a half, we arrive at Ronda, one of Spain's oldest cities. Situated on a mountain plateau 2,500 meters above sea level, the city is best known for the El Tajo gorge, which divides the old and new towns, but is now reconnected by the mighty Puente Nuevo bridge.

Ronda is touristy, but definitely worth a day trip. Take a different route on the way there than on the way back and enjoy the unique landscapes. We can recommend several beautiful driving routes, so you'll appreciate the fantastic surroundings even more.

Cordoba 100 minutes
Another city with a UNESCO World Heritage site. We're talking, of course, about the Mezquita . Originally a Catholic church, it was demolished and replaced by a mosque in 756. After the last Moors were expelled from the region, the building was transformed back into a cathedral in 1236. The church was actually built around the mosque, creating a unique structure that's well worth a visit. And don't forget the beautiful narrow streets. Still have time? Then visit the Medina Azahara, located just outside Cordoba. It's an old walled Arab city from the time of the Caliphate of Cordoba.

Marbella 60 minutes
Want to see how the jet set lives on the Costa del Sol? Then take a day trip to Marbella. Marvel at the large yachts and expensive cars and enjoy the old town. The drive there is mainly between towering hotels and apartments; now you know why we chose our B&B on the other side of Málaga.

Day at the beach and sea
Our B&B doesn't have a sea view, but you're just a short distance from the coast, with the beautiful beaches of the Costa del Sol. The city of Málaga boasts fantastic beaches for relaxing and plenty of cozy traditional eateries. The wide beaches near Torre del Mar are quieter, with excellent eateries and chiringuitos—beach bars serving freshly grilled fish.

A little further along the coast, just past Nerja, lies the village of Maro, where beautiful, tranquil coves are nestled among the mountains. If you're looking for more excitement, the beaches at Torremolinos and Benalmádena are also an option.

Nature and walking
It's highly recommended to put on your hiking boots at least once. You can take beautiful walks right from the B&B. Or grab a car and drive to El Torcal or Nerja, for example. And if you can get a ticket, you absolutely must walk the Caminito del Rey (1 hour and 20 minutes from our B&B in Andalusia! It's a bit crowded, but definitely a bucket list item. If that doesn't work out, we also have a spectacular hike near Canillas de Aceituno, the Saltillo . It's an alternative to the Caminito del Rey.

Skiing
About a 1.5-hour drive from our B&B, you can be on your skis. From November to April, you can enjoy the snow. Hike, ski, snowboard, or simply enjoy the beautiful winter views.

Misuse
The area surrounding our B&B in Andalusia is mountainous, ideal for the experienced cyclist. There are beautiful routes with both climbs and descents. Along the coast, it's possible to cycle on flat terrain. Of course, we also have connections with bike rental companies on the coast , or electric bikes that can be delivered to us , who can arrange something for you. We can recommend beautiful cycling routes.
