About Peter Laarakker – Your Photo Coach in Spain

I'm Peter Laarakker, co-owner of B&B Finca GORDO, and a professional photographer since 1984. Throughout my career, I've worked for companies large and small, including the Ministry of Defence, DA Drugstores, Select Mail, and various publishers. I also have extensive experience with travel photography, and since 2020, I've been providing reports for the magazine Por Favor.

With the tranquility and beauty of Andalusia as my backdrop, I now share my knowledge through photography workshops—individually or in small groups. My approach? Practical, interactive, and tailored to your needs!

What can you expect?

During the workshop, you'll learn how to take better photos and see things differently. We'll cover topics like:

Technique : shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focal length

Composition : playing with light, black and white, movement, long exposure times

Editing : Optimizing photos with Lightroom (Adobe LR)

Practical assignments : directly apply what you have learned

At the end of the day, we'll discuss the photos and you'll receive personalized feedback. During your stay, you can work independently or on assignments, and I'm always available for additional tips and guidance.

Who is the workshop suitable for?

This workshop is suitable for both beginning and advanced amateur photographers. There's plenty of personal attention, and the groups are small (maximum 6 participants).

Where and how?

The workshops take place at our B&B Finca GORDO in Riogordo, Andalusia. We can pick you up from Malaga Airport (€80 per trip for up to 4 people).

Costs & Accommodation

€175 per person per day, including:

Photography guidance

Overnight stay in a double room with breakfast

On-site transportation

Image review with Lightroom and projector

Additional person (non-participating): €50 per day but partner of participant and sleeping in that room

What do you need?

A camera that can shoot RAW files is best but not necessary

A laptop with Lightroom (free trial available) is useful
