Day trips from our Bed and Breakfast in Andalusia Spain.

Day trips from our Bed and Breakfast in Andalusia Spain.

There is plenty to do. Our B&B is very centrally located in Andalusia for various trips
Get in the mood and watch the video . We have made a beautiful photo book with all the trips you can make from our B&B. Of course we are happy to advise you!

Malaga 30 min
Most guests fly into Málaga Airport and leave with a rental car to explore Andalusia. Do not forget to visit the city of Malaga. Just 30 minutes from our B&B you are in the historic center of the capital of the Province of the same name.

There is something for everyone: shopping in Calle Marqués de Larios, viewing historical monuments such as the Cathedral from 1700 or the Castillo Gilbralfaro and nearby the fortress Alcazaba.

For those who love gardens , Jardin de la Concepción is a must, just on the outskirts of Málaga on the route to our B&B in Riogordo.
Prefer to stroll on the boulevard at the harbor? That is also possible. Marvel at the huge cruise ships that dock there and give their passengers the opportunity to explore Málaga.
In the unlikely event that it is rainy or too hot, visit one of the museums: Museo Carmen Thyssen , Center Pompidou (an annex of Paris) or the Picasso museum . Pablo Picasso was also born Malagueño: A visit to his birthplace is highly recommended. You can of course simply contact us for more tips.
We think it's such a nice city that from April 2023 we also have an apartment there for rent Loft2Stay

Granada 65 minutes
An hour's drive from our B&B is the historic city of Granada with the world famous Alhambra (click here to book tickets). A huge historic palace from the Moorish era, well worth a visit. It is not for nothing that it is on the Unesco World Heritage List. The Albaucin district at the foot of the Alhambra, with nice restaurants and narrow alleys, is also well worth a visit. Another special thing about Granada is that you almost always see snow on the mountain tops of the Sierra Nevada.

Antequera 40 minutes
A special city, but less known in our province of Málaga. 30,000 inhabitants, nice center and a beautiful arena. Well worth a visit and a nice walk through the city center. Good to combine with a walk on El Torcal, an impressive mountain range and the saltwater lagoon Fuente de Piedra . A salt lake where flamingos breed.

In the morning a nice walk in the nature park and then lunch in town around 2 pm and then back to our finca for a refreshing dip in the pool. Of course you can still enjoy a sunset that never bores us.
Please note that the shops in Antequera are closed from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Ronda 55 minutes
After a delicious breakfast at our B&B and a nice drive of about 1.5 hours, Ronda is one of the oldest cities in Spain. Located on a mountain plateau 2500 m above sea level. The city is best known for the El Tajo gorge that splits the old and new city, but is now connected again by the mighty bridge Puente Nuevo.

Ronda is touristy, but well worth a day trip. Take a different route on the outward journey than on the return journey and enjoy the special landscapes. We can, however, advise a number of beautiful car routes. Then you can enjoy the fantastic surroundings even more.

Cordova 100 minutes
Another city with a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We are, of course, talking about the Mezquita . First a Catholic church, then demolished and in 756 a Mosque was built. After the last Moors were expelled from the region, the building was transformed into a cathedral in 1236. Actually, the church is built around the Mosque. This has created a unique structure that is really worth a visit. And don't forget the beautiful narrow streets. Still time left? Then visit the Medina Azahara, located just outside Cordoba. That is an old walled Arab city from the time of the Caliphate of Cordoba.

Marbella 60 minutes
Would you like to see how the jet set experiences the Costa del Sol? Then take a day trip to Marbella. Marvel at the large yachts and expensive cars and enjoy the old town. The drive to it is mainly between towers of hotels and apartments; you now also know why we chose our B&B on the other side of Málaga.

Day at the beach and sea
Our B&B does not have a sea view, but you are so close to the coast with the wonderful beaches of the Costa del Sol. In the city of Málaga there are fantastic beaches to relax and plenty of cozy traditional eateries. Quieter are the wide beaches at Torre del Mar, with excellent eateries and the so-called chiringuitos: beach bars where you can eat freshly grilled fish.

A little further along the coast, just past Nerja, is the village of Maro, where there are beautiful quiet bays hidden between the mountains. If you want more excitement, the beaches at Torremolinos and Benalmádena are also an option.

Nature and hiking
It is recommended to put on the hiking boots once in a while. From the B&B you can make beautiful walks. Or take the car and drive to El Torcal or Nerja, for example. And if you can get a ticket, you should definitely walk the Caminito del Rey ! A little busy, but definitely a bucket list item. If this does not work, we also have a spectacular hike at Canillas de Aceituno, the Saltillo . The alternative to the Caminito del Rey.

Skiing
At about 1.5 hours drive from our B&B you are already on the long slats. From November to April it is possible to enjoy the snow. Hiking, skiing, snowboarding or just enjoying the beautiful winter view.

Misuse
The surroundings of our B&B in Andalusia are mountainous, ideal for the trained cyclist. There are beautiful routes both with climbs and descents. On the coast it is possible to cycle flat. We ourselves have 2 e-bikes that you can rent. Of course we also have contacts with bicycle rental companies that can arrange something for you.
